DRAFT: Deliverance

“Deliverance” is the working title for the open game project that is supposed to be arcade-adventure 2D game, set in the world which is inspired by the old anime known as “Magic Knight: Reyearth”, and who’s certain elements are more profoundly reimagined in direction of classics that are “The Neverending Story” and “Planescape: Torment”.

The player will lead three main protagonists in the story book that one lighthearted and honorable fourteen years old girl is enthusiastically reading during the main plot, in the company of mysterious person she calls …, convinced that she knows him since she was little.

Visually, the game is trying to follow the style of classic quality animation, seen in old and famous “game”, “Dragon’s Lair”, but ends up being some sort of hybrid of that and anime style.

As for the gameplay, it consists of two major elements, arcade action and puzzle-solving tinkering. Since the game’s appearance is done as classic 2D platform, the arcade part of the gameplay is in line with the traditions of that genre, “Rayman”, “Dust: Elysian Tail”, etc; but with unusual combat mechanics for this type of games, advanced tag-team mechanics and more. While puzzle-solving part is supposed to feature P&C adventure game-grade puzzles with the most basic way of interaction with the points of interest, similar to “Goblins” game series.

While intended to be open, for now, it will be considered as draft and development will remain private.
